My ongoing passion is typography. By closely examining the relationship between curves, lines and positive and negative space in each letter, I find new ways to engage with type.
This project explores the fundamentals of typography and how they are used to communicate the same information using two different approaches. Through a series of experiments and iterative testing, I produced two typographic works portraying the concept of construction & deconstruction.
Research & Process
Inspired by the work of Cecil Touchon, I demolished the structure of the highly acclaimed typeface – Helvetica, disregarding its notable functionality and readability. By breaking down the letters and using their distinctive bits to create an engaging pattern, I portrayed the concept of deconstruction.
